Making sure mental health treatment is there for children and young people, when they need it, as soon as they need it, so that they can get on with living their lives to their fullest potential.

Could you be a Champion of Young People?

What is a Y:AMHS Champion?

Y:AMHS Champions are members of the community who believe in our young people and want to see them thrive. They know that waiting months, or even years, for mental health treatment often means them missing out on vital education and developmental experiences, such as social interaction. They know that early intervention for mental ill health means that young people will have a much better chance of a full recovery and will be less likely to experience acute symptoms, disorders and suicidal thoughts.

Y:AMHS Champions 'champion' young people in our area by donating a small amount each month to Y:AMHS, helping us to be able to respond quickly to applications for funding from local families seeking mental health treatment for their child. Our Y:AMHS champions make a huge difference by being one of many that contribute to supporting our children and young people and showing them that we are a community that has 'got their back.'

How much do Y:AMHS Champions have to donate?

We know that times are tough for everybody, so we don't ask for any more than £5 per month - that's just £1.15 per week. If lots of people can help a little bit, together we can make the difference that children and young people need. Of course, if you're able to give more, that would be great, but we know that it's not always easy, and giving a small amount each month makes every one of our donors a real champion.

What do I get in return?

At Y:AMHS, we want our regular donors to feel that they are a real part of what we do. After all, without them, we wouldn't be able to do it at all. We also want them to know how much we value their part in helping children and young people in our area access the mental health treatment they need, when they need it, as soon as they need it. That's why all our Y:AMHS Champions receive our regular newsletter keeping them up to date with how we're getting on and also get FREE entry into our quarterly prize draw, giving them the chance of winning one of the amazing prizes generously donated by local businesses.
