Making sure mental health treatment is there for children and young people, when they need it, as soon as they need it, so that they can get on with living their lives to their fullest potential.

"I am so grateful to Y:AMHS for helping my son just at the time he needed the help. As a family, we were struggling to find real, practical help quickly and there seemed to be no light at the end of the tunnel, just months and months of waiting. It is painful to watch your child suffer and feel completely helpless. I went to the parents' support group and found a lovely group of people who listened and shared their stories without judgement. After applying, we were given the help that my son needed and he is now taking steps to improve his mental health little by little with guidance. Just being listened to and being heard has been a godsend to all of us. Thank you." (Parent)

Search for a therapy provider

To meet the growing needs of our nation's Children and Young People, Y:AMHS is part of a group pioneering a UK-wide directory of qualified Children and Young people counsellors and therapists with TAC Access. Our children, families and young people can use this exciting and powerful tool to select a professional they would like to work with either face-to-face or online. Simply register your details and search the database for counsellors who can offer the support you're looking for. Most therapists have also uploaded a short video, so you can make sure you are working with the person to suit your needs. You can then request this provider in your funding application to Y:AMHS, knowing that all the right checks have been made for you.
