Volunteer with us!
Do you have a few hours a month you could spare? Would you like to be part of an exciting new charity making a REAL difference in your local community?
We are looking for volunteers for the following roles :
Fundraising Assistants
We are looking for people who can spare a couple of hours over a weekend on an ad-hoc basis to help with our fundraising activities, such as collections and small events. This is especially a great opportunity for young people aged 16 or over who are looking for some work experience! The role involves manning our stand, taking donations or payment for items we are selling, giving out leaflets and talking to people about the charity. All our Fundraising Assistants get one of our unique Y:AMHS t-shirts and/or sweater and to work with a relaxed, friendly bunch of people committed to being 'human-friendly.'
Fundraising Co-ordinator
We are looking to be able to extend our Fundraising events in the coming year and therefore seeking someone who can co-ordinate and organise with both venues and volunteers. Our Fundraising Co-ordinator will also be able to propose new fundraising ideas to help us reach our fundraising targets for the year.
We are looking for someone, aged 18+, who has some experience of fundraising in a small organisation and who will be able to bring new ideas to the table, as well as having the energy to promote and organise events in the local area. The ideal candidate will be confident in speaking to a wide range of people and will be able to communicate passionately about supporting young people’s mental health. This role will require a time commitment of up to 2-3 hours per week on average.
Community Engagement Officer
Y:AMHS was launched in 2021 by our 4 trustees, who have worked tirelessly sincewe launched to promote the charity and its aims in the local community. We have been able to make many links with local organisations, including youth groups, schools and businesses, but, in order to grow and to keep up with the demand on our services, we need to reach out to a much wider audience locally.
We are therefore seeking to recruit a volunteer Community Engagement Officer who can forge links with local businesses and organisations, building relationships with key members of staff and helping to gain support for the charity and build on the successes we have already achieved. This will involve correspondence via email and written letters, telephone, face to face and online conversations and will require a time commitment of 2-3 hours per week.
If you are someone who feels passionately about young people’s mental health and would like to be a big part of making a difference in your local community, we would love to hear from you!
